Cheesy-Beer Bread

Adapted from Katie at Good Things Catered

1 1/2 cups all purpose flour
1 1/2 cups whole wheat flour
1/3 cup packed light brown sugar
4 1/2 tsp baking powder
1 tsp salt
1 tsp garlic powder
1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
12 oz bottle of beer (I used Harvest Moon)
2 T unsalted butter, melted

Preheat oven to 350 degrees and spray loaf pan with cooking spray. In a mixing bowl, combine flours, sugar, baking powder, salt, garlic powder, and cheese, stir to combine. Slowly add beer, mixing until combined. Knead dough gently until well mixed. Pour batter into prepared pan and pour melted butter over the top. Bake for 50-60 minutes until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.

  1. I was wondering if it would be okay to use just all-purpose flour? I don't have whole wheat flour and wondered if it was necessary? Otherwise, this looks like some sexy bread!
